Frank Russell Abernathy, a World War II veteran, and Ava Dell Giles Abernathy founded Giles Shire, the Last Viking Kingdom
in Midgard, in 1960. Frank retired from the United States Department of Agriculture in Washington, D.C., and returned with Dell to the Shire
where they built a home and became vegetable farmers. Their grandsons, Jimmy, Greg, and Mark visited on the weekends and during the summer.
After receiving his Master of Business Administration degree from Mississippi State University,
studying French at the Sorbonne in Paris, working for IBM on Madison Avenue in New York, and working in Dilsberg, Germany on the river Neckar when the
Berlin Wall came down, Jimmy meets and subsequently marries a Viking princess who persuades him to return to the Shire where he becomes an expert beekeeper
learning about the well-kept secrets of the hive masters and discovering the treasures of a secret nectar source, the origin for his exclusive distribution of
Giles Shire Viking Honey® - Best Honey in the World.
Recognizing all depends upon the Honey Bee, Giles invites Beyla, the Norse Goddess of Honey Bees
to come and live at Giles Shire. Beyla accepts Giles' invitation. Learning about the effort to save the Honey Bee, Odin, the Norse God of Wisdom,
decides to become the ruler of Giles Shire where Thor, the Norse God of Thunder, controls the weather and protects the apiaries while Beyla breeds a
Super Queen Bee to fight off Honey Bee extinction. Beyla's Super Queen Bee will save Earth. Heimdall is the sentry and the guardian for Giles Shire.
